A night of stand-up comedy with some of the UK's best standup comedians at The railway Inn, Botley, Hampshire.

Tadiwa Mahlunge stand up comic comes to Botley

Billed as “one of the country's top new comedy acts” by The York Press, Tadiwa Mahlunge has performed at, among others, the Latitude, Greenman, and Greenwich Comedy Festivals - alongside the biggest names in comedy - and has provided tour support for Kiri Pritchard-McLean and Jessica Fostekew, and TV warm up for Desiree Birch’s Amazon Prime special.

As seen on BBC 1, BBC 2, Dave, Comedy Central, UTV, Comic Relief and heard on BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Northampton and BBC Sounds - Tadiwa Mahlunge has established himself as one of comedy’s hottest prospects. As such, he featured on the 2022 Pleasance Comedy Reserve at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Jacob Hawley  in Southampton

Jacob Hawley is a multi-award winning stand-up, writer and performer.

He has performed stand-up on Sky Max’s The Russell Howard Hour and ITV X’s Secrets of The Irish Comedy Circuit, as well as appearing on The Stand Up Sketch Show, BBC 3’s hit sitcom Ladhood and multiple BBC Comedy shorts.

He has performed 3 critically acclaimed shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, his first two shows Howl and Faliraki were both translated into BBC Radio 4 Stand Up Specials, with his second special Class Act being named The Guardian’s Pick Of The Week. His third show, Bump, was described by the British Comedy Guide as ‘An impeccable hour of man-and-mic stand up’, awarded 4 star reviews and then toured across the UK to multiple sell out rooms.

He was awarded a Radio Academy award which he accepted at London’s Palladium for Best New Voice for his hit BBC Sounds podcast Jacob Hawley: On Drugs, one of the BBC’s first original podcasts, a show which regularly featured in the iTunes top 12 podcasts and amassed over half a million downloads. The series was followed by two more commissions, Jacob Hawley’s Job Centre and Jacob Hawley: On Love, which both received critical acclaim and hundreds of thousands of downloads.

Away from his podcasts Jacob’s journalism continues in his writing - he writes a monthly column for The Metro and has been published by The Sunday Times amongst other publications. His comedy writing credits include Mock The Week and multiple scripted comedies.

Jacob is currently preparing for his first international tour in 2024, as well as working on multiple TV projects and regularly headlining some of the UK’s biggest comedy clubs.

Vinny Shiu

Vinny Shiu is a stand up comedian who combines comedy songs with stories and jokes to highlight his unique upbringing; growing up in the West, as part of an Asian family.
 
Vinny believes that comedy is not only about sharp jokes but also about giving audiences a performance. His style is immersive, physical and dynamic. He is the winner of Southampton comedian of the year 2023 and was a semi-finalist in British comedian of the year 2023.

Shazza B 

Shazza’s savage outlook on life, her ageing body and farcical fantasies make for both a hilarious and enlightening comedy experience.

Billy James 

Billy James is swiftly making a name for himself on the Southern comedy circuit. Having started out in January 2022 he’s already made the final of numerous national new act competitions, and has supported big names such as Simon Brodkin, Mark Simmons and Geoff Norcott.

He’s got gags, stories and observations all of which are delivered with lovable, self deprecating charm.

Hosted by Comedy MC Geordie Geoff

Geordie Geoff, born and raised in the Northeast, is excited to bring his unique style of comedy. With a reputation as a nice guy, he quickly puts his audience at ease through a laid-back and interactive approach to stand-up. No two performances are the same: Geoff leaves people yearning for more with his famous crowd work, always keeping the audience at the centre of his set.

Known for his perceptive descriptions, laser dot humour, and "say it like it is" attitude, Geoff is brutally funny. The front row becomes his playground, and its occupants become his closest friends.

Geoff started his comedy journey at the Edinburgh Fringe and has recently provided support for renowned comedians like Michael Hackett, Steve Hughes, and Martin Westgate. Additionally, he is an established MC, having hosted Mark Simmons, Ben Norris, Dinesh Ranganathan, and Jack Skipper.
