Simon Munnery comes to Southampton to deliver a night of comedy greatness

Simon Munnery is an English comedian is coming to Southampton. Known for his distinctive style of “intellectual” or “alternative” comedy. Simon is from Hertfordshire, but confidently became a part of the alternative comedy scene in London from the 1980’s.

Since, he has performed internationally and has also appeared on TV shows such as BBC’s “Attention Scum” and Channel 4’s “Comedy Lab.” Munnery is well known for his offbeat, inventive, and often absurdist humour, which he delivers in a deadpan, monotone manner and is often working alongside props and visual gags.

Simon has formed several distinctive comic characters over the years, including the rebellious “Alan Parker: Urban Warrior,” and has also written and performed several one-man shows, which he has taken to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Munnery is known to push the boundaries of what is considered “funny” which is admired alongside his originality and intelligence.

Twenty years ago, Simon Munnery was mugged three times and arrested once, all in one night! 

The legendary comedian Simon Munnery was arrested in Edinburgh for simply “being a German in a built-up area.” Today, this would be seen as ‘cancel culture,’ but it instead, it only led to a trial.

This is the first time British Comedy Award Nominee and serial innovator Simon Munnery shares his experience of this trial. After four years of a gruelling legal battle, Simon was able to have his second court appearance only last year.
