Alison Spittle performs her stand-up comedy routine "Wet" at The Attic Comedy Club in Southampton

Alison Spittle comes to The Attic's Southampton Comedy Club to perform her stand-up comedy routine "Wet".

Following the tremendous success of her completely sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and being praised as one of the best comedy acts, Alison is now embarking on a tour throughout the UK.

She takes part in aqua-aerobics, jumping into the water and also enjoys watching people fight at chip shops; her two hobbies come together when a fight breaks out during the class, making her feel incredibly alive.

Alison Spittle is an Irish comedic talent, producing and writing for radio stations such as iRadio, RTÉ Radio 1, and Newstalk.

She has written sketches for the Republic of Telly and was the writer/star of her 2017 RTÉ Two sitcom Nowhere Fast. Additionally, she is the host/creator of the Alison Spittle Show podcast on Headstuff.org.

After graduating from college in Dublin, Spittle moved back to Westmeath and began functioning as a researcher for iRadio alongside comedian Bernard O'Shea. Through her support of PJ Gallagher, she got involved in So You Think You're Funny's Irish heats which resulted in her qualifying for rounds held in Edinburgh. This success even brought her a spot as a guest on the John Murray Show RTÉ Radio 1's "Happy Hour" segment.

Her various stand-up comedy acts include Alison Spittle Needs an Agent, Alison Spittle Discovers Hawaii (2015), and Worrier Princess (2017). She has also been featured at the Edinburgh and Dublin fringe festivals together with The Forbidden Fruit and Cork Comedy festivals.

She has been a frequent guest on The Right Hook with George Hook on News talk and is a well-loved co-host of the popular The Guilty Feminist podcast alongside Deborah Francis-White.

Her comedic talents were also featured in the 2019 comedy film Extra Ordinary. In 2020, she partnered with fellow comedian Fern Brady to launch Wheel of Misfortune podcast as part of BBC programming; Brady left the show in early 2021 and Spittle hosted episodes with various guests until Kerry Katona became her permanent co-host in November 2022.

Despite seeming pleasant on the outside, she loves confrontation and is the host of BBC Sounds Wheel of Misfortune, The Guilty Feminist podcast and is a writer for Have I Got News For You.
