Ben Miller Science Comedy in Southampton

What happens when a comedian walks into a volcano? In 2023, Ben Miller was the artist in residence at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, the first ever stand-up comedian ever selected. This was probably a terrible idea on their part.

Come watch this show where scientist turned stand-up comedian Ben Miller explores volcanology, entomology, Hawaiian history, cats, cookies, and more. And yes that photo is real. Ben has made people laugh in front of a burning lava lake and he is not afraid of you.

Based in New York City, Ben Miller has spent the last seven years perfecting his craft. He's graced the stages of renowned clubs like Broadway Comedy Club, Carolines, and The Stand. His prowess in roast battling once earned him the top spot in NYC. Surprisingly, Ben holds a degree in Materials Science and Engineering and even worked on a science bus. He's not your typical comedian; he's 3D printed cookies and diffused a few bar fights while on stage.

In 2022, Ben Miller achieved a milestone with his debut hour, "Stand-Up Science," which enjoyed a completely sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Now, he's taking his act international. Join him on this hilarious journey through science, comedy, and the unexpected.

“One of NYC’s best pound-for-pound joke writers Ben Miller is unsurprisingly a scientist... you have to see this just for the Spike Lee joke, I almost spit milk out my nose when I heard it.” – Matt Levy, Comedy Stray Notes

After Ben's sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022, you don't want to be missing this show!

Support act Leslie Carr

Leslie Carr is a university professor and confessional storytelling comedian with a warm and engaging stage presence. His shows "Carr Crash" and "Siri-ously Funny" tell the story of how a boomer born in 1964 BC (before computers) became an AI researcher and why AI is going wrong.

"Delivered with a nervous gleam, his set was as fascinating and factual as it was funny, and proved that observational comedy thrives when focused on an incredibly nuanced topic brought to life with an energetic and endearing nerdiness." (**** The Student)
