Brian Bilston, the Banksy of poetry, comes to The Attic in Southampton as part of his UK tour

Brian Bilston, known as the Banksy of poetry, has become beloved on social media with over 200,000 followers and is profound as the unofficial Poet Laureate of Twitter. His first poetry collection, You Took the Last Bus Home, was published by Unbound. His novel Diary of a Somebody (Picador) was shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award and the McKitterick Prize.

Alexa, What Is There To Know About Love? is his last collection, which one reviewer described as 'the funniest collection of humorous verse I have seen in a long time.’ From this, his poem ‘Refugees’ was set to music by Mark-Anthony Turnage for his 2019 song cycle and also a collection named ‘Fifty Ways to Score a Goal’ which is about football for children, published in 2021. Brian’s latest book Days Like These: An Alternative Guide to the Year in 366 Poems is currently available in hardback. This book will take the blues out of your Mondays, flatten the hump of your Wednesdays, and amplify that Friday feeling from January all the way through to December.
